What if heaven were sentimental? 8/30/2019

I have spent a lot of time thinking about many things. I ponder the universe and all the way down to minute things in everyday life. I have studied how several religions work as well as non religions. I love esoteric things and things so common as to bore others. I have only 2 real skills. I am pretty good at speaking and communicating with others and I can think my way into all kinds of spaces. There is not much cash in the second one.

One religious belief is that those that obtain heaven will have mansions to live in. I pondered those residences for a while and tried to figure out how they would be furnished? A mansion from someone deceased in 110 A D might not be comfortable if furnished in Danish Modern and someone passed in 1973 might not find furniture in the Ottoman style comfortable? We would probably all be neighbors.

What if everything that we ever owned were ours in the afterlife? A lot of men from my generation would need 45 plus car garages. I would need a library the size of a huge barn. Imagine finding all of your toys from your childhood, your favorite Teddy bear? If I had every fire arm that I ever owned (mostly black powder) I would do okay with a small room but some folks would need a barn. For my swords and edged weapons (now sold) would need a much bigger room. How many folks both women and men would need huge walk in closets with deuce and a half sized shoe trees. Every collection that you ever put together might need it’s own room. How about if we got out pets? How many dog and cat spaces would you need? Do you have horses? How would the furniture be taken care of for those folks like the Queens and Kings that owned many homes be covered? Well that is fun for me to picture but now for the important question.

Many good people died very poor and would not need much room for everything that they ever owned. If these are our neighbors and we all made it to heaven there are possibilities. You know of all the things that you have owned and even loved. We all have many of these deserving neighbors. Our presence in heaven indicates a certain desire to share. I believe that if heaven were like this the piles of excess stuff would be willingly distributed. Now the question is how many of those beloved things in your life, that you remember, would be saved for your personal mansion and how much of the excess would you be overjoyed to share with your neighbors? I am not talking socialism. I am speaking of a desire to be open handed with charity. Things that governments give via taxes is not the same. Things that religious rules, social customs, outside influences at all are not the same as the things that we are happy to share. Go through your mind and pick out what you would keep and what you would love to see others enjoy.

These are the kind of things that stick to my mind like burrs. I do not believe that heaven will be like this but since I get so many cold calls for charities and see so much social largesse that the question arises in my mind and sticking it on you makes me feel a little more relieved to not be the only one asking this question. No you cannot have my Coca Cola ice pick.  If you can give to me any kind of response or answer, I will be grateful.
